How To Get Amazing Travel Deals

When it comes to traveling, especially internationally, so many peers ask me “How are you able travel” or “Isn’t traveling expensive?”. The answer is travel deals!!! Traveling on the “shoulder season” will be your best friend. So, when I tell people what I mean by “shoulder season” is that you travel for a month or two between the busy seasons. For instance, summertime is probably the worst time to travel anywhere because families and students usually travel during that time, so the rate for everything goes up. But, if you travel rather in August, but in September, your pricing and budget are going to plummet. Plus, the crowds will almost be nonexistent and you will experience a more “local experience” as frequent travelers like to say.
So, let’s say you are open-minded to going to ANY place in September and you just want to go somewhere internationally. Well, the first thing I would do is go on Google Flights, put your home base airport, and put the month of September with no destination or date. You can put that you want any weekend or week for this search. Once you click that search, it will tell you how much everything will be with that flexibility. This means ANYWHERE in the world will tell you how much it will be. That’s the start! You can do the same thing to Skyscanner and Hopper.
One thing I do recommend is to put “notifications” on to see if your flight goes up or down. Sometimes, you get even a better deal but that sometimes is rare! It goes up and down that it will give you so much anxiety! So, if it’s a good price for you, along with your research book your flight right away!
PRO TIP: Book DIRECTLY with the airline and NOT with a 3rd party!! I have heard horror stories of travelers not being able to go on their flight because the 3rd party didn’t book their flight or if there were any cancellations, it’s an issue to get a refund or another ticket. So, book directly with the airline!
