Japan

Tokyo, Japan!

After pushing my trip back three times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I could finally visit my dream city! I never imagined visiting the city that inspired so much of my childhood memories and obsession with anime and Hello Kitty growing up. While in South Korea, we decided to make a pit stop in Tokyo, Japan, and let’s just say, we felt like four days was not enough to even explore half of the city.

We used the new airline named ZIPAIR to get us from Seoul, South Korea to Tokyo, Japan in about two hours. It was fairly a pretty cheap flight to get from Tokyo back to Seoul, but I made the worst possible mistake that I think I ever did in my traveling life. I made us pack up all our luggage and take all of it with us rather than putting our clothes in our carry-ons and leaving the items we didn’t need in a locker unit. I HIGHLY recommend doing this because not only does ZIPAIR charge a lot of money for luggage, but because it is a budget airline. But, because our trip was exactly 2 weeks, we had so many clothes that carrying all that luggage around the airports and the city was truly not worth it. So, after paying an additional $150 per person for our luggage to be put on the plane, we were off to Tokyo! Once arriving at Narita Airport, we quickly made our way to the bus counter to get a bus to our hotel. Now, we did this because each of us had a checked bag and a carry-on, and taking the bus was much more convenient and budget-friendly. Imagine us trying to get into Tokyo with all our luggage on the train.. haha! How much fun would that be?

Finally, we got to our hotel and were ready to get the ground running! We stayed at a hotel right near the famous Shibuya Crossings and were ready to cry in all the excitement! We walked as much as we could that night in awe of how the city lights looked, how clean the ground was, and how extremely safe we felt while we walked around. Tokyo is very overwhelming but we did almost everything we could possibly do in a short period of time. We need to visit again 😊.

I wanted to make this blog short because I think the photos really showcases what we were able to do in 4 days plus I did record a good amount on my YouTube channel.
